Construction, M&E or Plant Squadrons at any time since their
formation in 1941 to the disbandment of the A.C.B on the 01/04/66. For example
this includes anyone that has served with an A.C.B unit in anyone of the
following places: UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Germany, Iceland,
Azores, Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus, Italy, Africa, Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore,
Kowloon, Hong Kong, Palestine, and Iraq during 1941 to 1946. And anyone in
5001, 5002, and 5004 Squadrons formed in peacetime for service in UK, Germany,
Egypt, Aden, Cyprus, El Aden, Singapore, Malaysia and Borneo. And finally any
one in the UK based 5003 Squadron.
The object of the association is to renew old friendships either by the annual newsletters, or the Reunions each year. As a member you will receive a list of members, which is updated yearly, plus the annual newsletter. The newsletter is sent out each April, and contains many articles written by members. With the newsletter you will receive information and a booking form for the annual reunion and the AGM, also details of other events as available.

The one thing that all potential members will ask is how much it is going to cost to join the association, not a lot! The enrolment fee of £1.00 plus the first year’s subscription of £4.00. Then the annual sum of £4.00 is requested, Members can also pay by standing order, which is the preferred option as it saves a lot of reminders.
Another method is the advance payment in multiples of £4.00 these with the interest and donations from members keeps the fees down.
Members have the choice of two ties, navy blue
or maroon with the A.C.B. logo RAF eagle surmounted with crown and the letters
A.C.B. below as shown on the left (click on image to see larger view) Ties cost
£8.50 each including postage.
The blazer badge shown left (click on image to
see larger view) costs £10.00 each including postage.
Please note: Ties and blazer badge prices depend on our suppliers and may change.
Another thing is that is often said by potential members is they doubt if there will be any one from their service days. Well I can assure you that there are still a lot of us around from the 1941 - 1946 period as well as the 50's and 60's. So now that you have browsed through our site, and you served at any time with the RAF Airfield Construction Squadrons - why not make contact.
